Job Description

Pathways World School Aravali is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Department (HOD) Career Counsellor to lead our career guidance initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to students helping them explore career options make informed decisions and develop essential skills for their future paths. Key Responsibilities: Individual and Group Counselling: Meet individually with students and their parents to explore and identify suitable college options. Provide personalized counselling and guidance to students regarding college admissions selection and application processes. Communicate regularly with counselees offering support advice and tracking progress. College Admissions Guidance: Guide students and their parents through the college admissions and application process ensuring they understand all steps involved. Advise on a wide range of global education destinations. Provide up-to-date information about admission criteria application deadlines financial aid options and institutional profiles. Utilizing CIALFO System: Serve as a primary resource for students parents and faculty on how to use the CIALFO college admissions data management system. Provide training and support to students staff and parents on how to navigate CIALFO for college research and application management. College Application Assistance: Assist students in understanding and completing application forms such as the Common App UCAS UC OUAC and others. Educate students on interview preparation self-assessment tools and effective application essay writing techniques. College Admissions Process Knowledge: Develop expertise in the admission process at a variety of institutions including those with different selectivity levels and types. Stay informed about trends and changes in the higher education landscape and share insights with students and staff. Student Preparation and Skill Development: Help students understand the college admission process through workshops group counselling and one-on-one sessions. Provide resources and facilitate sessions on interview preparation self-assessment essay writing and general application strategy. Engagement with Students Across Grade Levels: Primarily focus on working with seniors during the fall and juniors during the spring but provide support to freshmen and sophomores as needed. Assist students in developing long-term career and academic goals encouraging early exploration of higher education opportunities. Team Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and manage the career counselling department ensuring efficient operation and delivery of high-quality counselling services. Collaborate with teachers administrators and external college representatives to develop and improve the overall counselling program. Professional Development: Stay up to date with best practices in college counselling and admissions. Attend relevant workshops conferences and training sessions to continuously improve the departments offerings. Qualifications & Experience: a) Master's degree in Counselling Psychology or related field (preferred). b) 10 to 12 years of IB experience in college counselling and admissions.
