Parul Institute of Design has the following open positions for respective specializations: HOD - Fashion & Textiles HOD - Product Design HOD - Interior Design HOD - Visual Communication HOD - Animation HOD - Film Head of Department is a senior academic leadership position responsible for providing strategic direction, academic leadership, and operational oversight for the Design department. The HOD will be responsible for curriculum development, program accreditation, faculty development, research promotion, and fostering strong connections with the design industry and the wider academic community. Academic Leadership and Vision: Develop and articulate a clear academic vision and strategic plan for the Design department/program, aligning with the university's overall mission and strategic goals. Faculty Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and evaluate faculty members within the Design department/program, fostering their professional growth and development in teaching, research, and service. Encourage and support faculty research activities, grant applications, and scholarly publications. Curriculum Development and Management: Oversee the development, review, and revision of the design curriculum at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, ensuring alignment with current industry standards and academic best practices. Explore and integrate innovative teaching methodologies, technologies, and assessment strategies. Student Engagement and Support: Oversee student advising and mentorship programs. Support student-led initiatives, design competitions, and extracurricular activities. Promote connections between students and the design industry through internships, guest lectures, and portfolio reviews. Research and Innovation: Promote and support research activities within the Design department/program. Encourage faculty and student participation in research projects and scholarly activities. Qualifications: A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Design or a closely related field. Significant experience in teaching at the university level, with a demonstrated commitment to pedagogical innovation and student success. A strong understanding of current trends and challenges in design education and practice. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills. Preferred Qualifications: Relevant Experience in Fashion Design or Product Design or Interior Design or Visual Communication or Animation or Film with minimum experience of 8 years.
