1. Financial Ensure effective cost management to minimize variable cost and fixed cost as well as maintain financial discipline and plan for benchmarked improvements Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality Develop and execute the plant manufacturing budgets, including relevant departments accountable to the achievement of budgets Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards Take initiatives to drive growth for DCBL/Refractories and ensure sustained growth in line with long-term and short-term objectives of the organization 2. Customer Work in collaboration with Marketing and Quality Assurance Divisions to develop and bring to market new products Work with the Purchasing Manager to develop and improve vendor/supplier relationships for all Plant inputs Collaborate with regional Sales & Marketing teams to penetrate new markets or expand existing market Direct and manage Industrial relations, to ensure constructive work environment and protect units interests 3. Operations Evolve and develop strategy and ensure implementation to enhance capacity and improvement of productivity norms to achieve assigned CVA targets of the unit Ensure effective implementation and management of environment, health and safety measures in compliance with Govt. policies and legislation to achieve zero accidents and pollution free environment Promote and ensure effective implementation of world-class systems and their integration to achieve system perfection Compliance of Information Security as per Corporate ISMS guideline Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets Upgrade system of production line and maintain required detail in standard formats and SAP Involve in new product developments and line-up venders and suppliers for new production plan Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime Address employees issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts Deploy various methodologies to analyze processes and recommend modification to minimize escalations, reduce rejections, Improve operating Efficiency, control variability, cost and reduction in cycle time Development and implementation of an Operational Excellence program (Best Practices) which ensures continuous improvement in operations Motivate and implement culture of Lean manufacturing system, TPM & TQM methodology among the workforce Review current production processes for modernization and trends Ensure initiation and sensitization of the employees towards digitization and automation of the processes Focus on utilization of advanced business analytics tools to derive key insights critical for the success of the organization 4. Self/ Team Development Provide safety training and ensure that all safety protocols are in place Review and monitor performance of team members and provide requisite developmental support/ inputs Recommend training as required for teams development Develop the team and update their knowledge base to cater the organization need Strategize avenues for enhancing employee satisfaction in the function, resulting in high engagement levels of employees
