1. Key Accountabilities Lead corporate affairs, policy advocacy, and regulatory engagement for Tamil Nadu. Drive proactive stakeholder management with government departments and power sector entities. Ensure alignment of policy and regulatory developments with business needs and execution goals. 2. Objectives Influence and shape the states renewable energy (RE) policy environment for wind, solar, hybrid, and storage. Resolve regulatory and statutory challenges affecting business operations. Strengthen Suzlon’s positioning through strategic government and industry engagement. 3. Accountability Accountable for all external stakeholder engagement at state level, including but not limited to Tamil Nadu Energy Department, TANGEDCO, TANTRANSCO, TEDA, TNEB and various Other State Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies as per business requirements. 4. Strategy & Planning Develop annual corporate affairs strategy and stakeholder engagement plan aligned with business delivery goals. Track evolving policy, regulatory, legal, and administrative frameworks impacting the RE sector. Identify opportunities for advocacy to unlock growth and resolve bottlenecks. 5. Financial Management Manage budgets for corporate affairs activities, including legal and consultancy support. Optimize costs while engaging external advisors and legal firms. 6. Operations and Execution Drive timely resolution of land, grid, and statutory approvals by engaging with the right authorities. Coordinate with project, sales, and development teams to escalate and resolve on-ground issues through government intervention. Lead the submission of representations, petitions, and advocacy papers to state authorities. 7. Risk Management Anticipate and mitigate policy, regulatory, and statutory risks affecting project execution or compliance. Ensure timely intervention in regulatory forums and with authorities to prevent or resolve legal risks. 8. Governance Maintain a repository of government communications, circulars, regulations, and approvals. Ensure transparency, compliance, and audit-readiness in all governmentfacing engagements. 9. Future Sustainability Promote long-term collaboration with state government on RE capacity expansion and ecosystem building. Participate in state-level sustainability initiatives and renewable energy forums. 10. People Management Lead and mentor the state-level corporate affairs team, including functional reportees like: Lead – Policy & Regulatory Affairs Lead – Project Permits & Approvals Facilitate skill-building, performance reviews, and knowledge sharing within the team. 11. Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Timely resolution of land, ROW, and grid-related issues from Govt. Depts. Number and quality of government engagements and partnerships Successful policy representations made and accepted Improvement in project delivery timelines due to government coordination Timely closure of regulatory interventions 12. Qualification Graduate/Postgraduate in Engineering, Law, Public Policy, or Business Administration Desirable: Certification in Policy, Regulatory, or Governance 13. Experience Range 15+ years in corporate affairs, public policy, or regulatory functions Experience in Renewable Energy or Infrastructure Sector is preferred Strong network and track record of government interaction in Tamil Nadu
