Role & responsibilities Position: Head of Supply Chain Management (SCM) - Aroma Chemicals Location: Daund Industry: Chemical Industry - Aroma Chemicals Experience: 20+ years in the Chemical Industry (Aroma Chemicals preferred) Job Overview: The Head of Supply Chain Management (SCM) will oversee all aspects of the supply chain for the Aroma Chemicals division, ensuring the smooth flow of raw materials, production, and distribution to meet business goals. This strategic leadership role requires in-depth knowledge of the chemical industry, with a particular focus on aroma chemicals, logistics, inventory management, and supply chain optimization. The candidate must possess a strong understanding of global supply chain networks, vendor relationships, and inventory control systems. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategy: Lead and manage the end-to-end supply chain operations for the Aroma Chemicals division. Develop and implement supply chain strategies to align with business objectives and market demands. Oversee the formulation and execution of supply chain policies and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Manage a team of supply chain professionals, setting performance objectives and ensuring alignment with the organization's goals. Supply Chain Optimization: Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to streamline supply chain activities. Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement in delivery timelines, inventory accuracy, and operational cost reduction. Oversee inventory management, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, ensuring optimal stock levels and efficient turnover. Vendor & Supplier Management: Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to ensure cost-effective sourcing of high-quality raw materials. Ensure timely procurement and on-time delivery of materials required for production. Manage supplier performance and collaborate with them to resolve issues related to supply chain disruptions. Logistics & Distribution: Oversee the logistics and distribution functions, ensuring timely and cost-efficient delivery of products to customers and distributors. Collaborate with logistics partners to improve transportation efficiency, delivery schedules, and packaging standards. Manage the transportation, warehousing, and distribution network to support the sales and production needs. Risk Management & Compliance: Identify and mitigate risks related to the supply chain, including potential disruptions from suppliers, transport issues, or raw material shortages. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance protocols in all aspects of the supply chain. Develop contingency plans to address supply chain risks and maintain business continuity. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the production, R&D, sales, and finance teams to align supply chain activities with organizational goals and customer demand. Provide regular updates to senior management on supply chain performance, challenges, and strategies. Key Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related fields. Certification in SCM (e.g., APICS, CSCP) is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 20 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 10 years in leadership roles within the chemical or aroma chemical industry. Proven track record of managing complex supply chains, vendor negotiations, logistics, and inventory control systems. Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performance team. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for optimizing processes and reducing costs. In-depth understanding of global supply chain networks, including procurement, logistics, and distribution. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers. Expertise in supply chain software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools. Desirable Attributes: Ability to think strategically and manage day-to-day operational challenges. Strong decision-making abilities, especially in high-pressure situations. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
