Position - Plant Head Reports To: Managing Director Job Description:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plant Head to lead and manage our plant operations in the Forging cum Machining unit. The successful candidate will be accountable for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, production, strategy formulation, cost reduction, and effective cross-functional collaboration with Human Resources, Finance & Accounts, and Purchase departments. This role requires an individual with a proven track record in managing plant operations, driving process improvement, and achieving production goals, while also fostering seamless coordination among departments.Essential Job Functions:Plant Operations: Direct and coordinate plant operations in alignment with company policies and procedures. Establish and enforce plant policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.Production Strategy: Formulate and plan production policies for the company. Develop strategies for implementing these policies to optimize production processes and meet customer requirements.Cost Reduction and Efficiency: Drive continuous cost reduction efforts and possess expertise in estimating part cost and tooling cost. Analyze Return on Investment (ROI) to make informed decisions.Production Planning & Control: Take ownership of production schedules, ensuring alignment with customer demands. Collaborate closely with Human Resources, Finance & Accounts, and Purchase departments to facilitate seamless purchasing, production, and delivery processes.Quality Control: Assume responsibility for maintaining product quality throughout the plant. Implement robust quality control measures to uphold high standards and ensure customer satisfaction.Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a skilled team of plant supervisory and administrative staff. Foster a motivated and well-trained workforce capable of delivering excellence.Community Relations: Establish and cultivate positive relationships within the community, reflecting the company's commitment to responsible and ethical business practices.Training and Committees: Organize and facilitate committees focused on quality improvement, utilization management, and safety. Provide comprehensive training opportunities to enhance staff skills and knowledge.Strategic Insights: Contribute valuable insights and recommendations based on industry expertise and operational acumen to guide strategic planning initiatives.MIS Reporting: Prepare and submit comprehensive Management Information System (MIS) reports to top management, offering meaningful insights into plant operations and performance.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments including Human Resources, Finance & Accounts, and Purchase to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of strategies.Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, MBA, or an equivalent combination of education.MSIL Exposure is mandatory.Experience: A minimum of 15-20 years of progressive experience in plant operations within the Forging Industry/Auto Industry. Candidates with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Plant Head will receive preference.
