Role & responsibilities Job Title: Instrumentation Engineer Department: Engineering / Maintenance / Projects Location: Daund Reporting To: Manager Engineering / Plant Head Experience Required: 36 years in instrumentation maintenance and projects in chemical/process industries Job Purpose: To ensure effective installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all field instruments and control systems to support safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations. Key Responsibilities: Installation & Commissioning: Install and commission instruments like pressure/temperature/level/flow transmitters, control valves, analyzers, etc. Work with project teams during equipment upgrades and expansions. Calibration & Maintenance: Conduct periodic calibration of field instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as per schedule or breakdown needs. Troubleshooting: Diagnose faults in instruments, signal loops, and PLC/DCS interfaces. Respond quickly to breakdowns and ensure minimum production disruption. Documentation: Maintain instrument loop diagrams, calibration records, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation. Ensure up-to-date instrumentation drawings and asset register. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all instruments comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards (e.g., ATEX, IEC, ISO). Implement interlocks and safety systems for hazardous processes. Coordination: Coordinate with automation, production, and E&I teams for smooth plant operations. Work with vendors and OEMs for technical support and spare procurement. Key Requirements: Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Instrumentation / Electronics / Electrical Engineering Experience: 3–6 years in chemical, aroma, pharmaceutical, or similar process industries Skills: Knowledge of smart field instruments (HART/FOUNDATION Fieldbus) Hands-on experience with calibration tools, signal loop testing, and control systems Basic understanding of PLC/DCS/SCADA interfacing Familiarity with hazardous area equipment and zoning Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Preferred Industry Background: Specialty chemicals, aroma chemicals, petrochemicals, API/pharma plants, or manufacturing industries with continuous/batch processing
