Job Description

Responsibilities Conducting Prior Art searches on paid, free, and internal databases for the Bridgestone Global Intellectual Property Department Analyzing the search results and preparing patentability opinions Creating initial understanding of the invention, creating and executing search strategies Providing insightful analysis of search results from various sources by preparing and delivering timely, value-added patent search reports based on requests from the Bridgestone Global Intellectual Property Department Attending conference calls with Bridgestone Global IP to support department members with process related inputs Suggesting process improvement opportunities and support during implementation Meeting expectations with individual, team as well as personal development goals Strict adherence to the Bridgestone Global Code of Compliance Requirements & Qualifications Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related disciplines. Three to five years of prior experience in patent and design searching and analysis of patents, designs and technical documents Experience with tyre technologies, in particular tyre components and tire structures. Experience with tire tread pattern designs is a plus. Self-motivated, proactive & hardworking Ability to listen and anticipate Strong technical knowledge, good analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail Proven ability to meet stringent deadlines, adapt to changing priorities Patent agent would be an added advantage
