Job Summary: UPL is a global leader in sustainable agriculture solutions, operating across multiple regions worldwide. We are establishing a centralized team of Inventory & Supply Planners in India to collaborate with our global teams, aiming to optimize inventory and ensure seamless operations. As an Inventory & Supply Planner, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient flow of our products, aligning with UPLs mission of OpenAg. This position requires a data-driven mindset, demand forecasting expertise, and proactive collaboration with global teams, suppliers, production units, and sales. Your efforts will directly contribute to delivering UPL's products to customers efficiently and cost-effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Drive inventory quality initiatives globally: Prepare and analyze excess, NCM and SLOB (slow-moving and obsolete) inventory reports; lead discussions with regional teams to drive corrective actions by collaborating with regional teams - Own the S&OP processes for supply and inventory management for earmarked regions, along with regional counterparts, to optimize stock levels and enhance supply chain efficiency. - Own and utilize analytical tools [eg: Proprietary UPL tool SONAR], to assess excess / short orders and implement necessary actions in supply/inventory planning to optimize stock levels. - Align already created production plans with inventory requirements and market needs through close coordination with production units. - Conduct regular reviews of raw material stocks, inventory / sales trends to to support strategic decision-making. - Work closely with demand planners, production planners, Commercial operations team, logistics team and procurement teams to drive inventory quality, inventory levels and working capital initiatives - Lead annual / biannual target-setting, inventory norms setting exercises (eg: lead time, safety stock etc.) for inventory and supply planning. - Support the implementation of advanced inventory management tools and systems to drive efficiency improvements - Prepare for and conduct leadership meetings (global and local) on a regular basis to provide updates on inventory status Required Qualifications & Skills: - Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in engineering, business administration, supply chain management, operations management, or a related field. - 2+ years of experience in inventory planning, demand planning, or supply chain management or related fields, OR showcasing heavy analytical work in supply chain - Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools like Excel, SAP, or other ERP systems. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with global teams. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. - Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. - Experience in the agrochemical or manufacturing industry or knowledge of inventory control techniques, demand forecasting, and replenishment strategies preferred Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Inventory value / Inventory turnover ratio (Global, selected regions) Inventory quality metrics (NCM, SLOB, excess etc.) Requirement vs. committed vs. actuals Alignment of production plans with net requirement Alignment of supply orders with requirements (SONAR); order fulfillment rates, stock availability Performance in regular leadership reviews and exercises (eg: target-setting exercises)
