HVAC Electrical and Mechanical Designer Job DescriptionThe HVAC Electrical and Mechanical Designer is responsible for creating detailed designs for heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems, integrating both electrical and mechanical components. The role involves collaboration with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure that all HVAC systems are efficient, safe, and compliant with local and national building codes.Key Responsibilities:Design and Drafting:Develop detailed mechanical and electrical design plans for HVAC systems using CAD or other design software.(Revit,Dialux)Produce accurate layout drawings, schematics, and specifications for HVAC equipment, ductwork, and electrical systems.Design control systems for HVAC equipment including wiring diagrams and load calculations.System Analysis and Load Calculations:Perform heat load calculations to determine the capacity requirements for HVAC systems.Conduct electrical load calculations to ensure proper sizing of electrical components.Assess energy efficiency of proposed designs and recommend improvements.Collaboration and Coordination:Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure designs meet the project specifications and objectives.Coordinate the integration of HVAC systems with other building systems such as lighting, plumbing, and structural elements.Work closely with contractors and field teams during installation and provide technical support as needed.Compliance and Standards:Ensure designs comply with all relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NEC, IEC).Stay updated on changes in HVAC technology, codes, and energy efficiency standards.Project Documentation:Prepare technical documentation, including bills of materials, cost estimates, and reports.Maintain accurate records of designs, revisions, and approvals.Testing and Commissioning:Assist in the testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems to ensure proper functionality.Conduct on-site inspections and field evaluations to verify system performance.Skills and Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, or a related field.Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux,CreoKnowledge of HVAC system components, electrical circuits, and controls.Strong understanding of building codes, electrical standards, and HVAC design principles.Experience with load calculation software (e.g., HAP, TRACE) is a plus.Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.Experience:4-8 years of experience in HVAC design, with a focus on both electrical and mechanical aspects.Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.Job Location:Chennai-Guindy
