The Computer Lab Assistant is responsible for maintaining the functionality of computer systems, assisting students and staff with technical issues, and ensuring smooth operations in the computer lab. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software problems, managing lab resources, and enforcing lab policies. Key Responsibilities: 1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Assist students, faculty, and staff with using lab computers and software. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues. Perform basic maintenance, updates, and installations on lab computers. Ensure all devices, including printers, scanners, and projectors, are operational. 2. Lab Management & Maintenance: Monitor the proper use of lab equipment and enforce lab rules. Maintain an inventory of computer peripherals and accessories. Ensure antivirus and security protocols are followed. Keep the lab environment clean, organized, and free from unauthorized access. 3. User Assistance & Training: Guide users on using software applications, operating systems, and online resources. Conduct brief training sessions on basic IT skills when required. Provide technical support for online learning platforms, coding software, and productivity tools. 4. Documentation & Reporting: Log and report system issues, maintenance activities, and incidents. Keep records of software licenses and IT inventory. Assist in preparing reports on lab usage and technical problems.
