Work Location: Kanha Shanti Vanam, Hyderabad https://g.co/kgs/4EiMgu Job Overview : The Lab Technician is responsible for supporting laboratory operations by preparing materials, conducting tests and experiments, recording results, and maintaining equipment. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a solid understanding of laboratory techniques and procedures. Key Responsibilities : Sample Collection and Preparation : Collect, label, and prepare samples for testing according to standard operating procedures (SOPs). Prepare chemical reagents, solutions, and other materials required for experiments. Ensure proper storage and handling of samples and chemicals. Testing and Experimentation : Perform routine laboratory tests, experiments, and analyses according to established protocols. Operate laboratory equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, spectrometers, and other scientific instruments. Accurately document experimental data, observations, and results in lab notebooks and digital systems. Data Recording and Analysis : Compile, analyze, and interpret data from laboratory tests. Prepare reports and summaries of test results for review by senior lab staff or researchers. Assist in ensuring data accuracy, quality control, and validation of results. Equipment Maintenance and Calibration : Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is clean, calibrated, and in good working condition. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of lab equipment as required. Ensure the proper disposal of laboratory waste and adhere to environmental regulations. Safety and Compliance : Follow strict safety procedures, guidelines, and regulations while working with hazardous materials and equipment. Wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, lab coats, and safety glasses. Participate in safety audits and contribute to maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Inventory and Supplies Management : Monitor laboratory supplies and reagents, ensuring inventory is well-stocked. Place orders for materials as needed and manage the receipt of supplies. Maintain accurate records of chemical and reagent use and storage. Support to Research and Development (RD) : Assist senior scientists and researchers in conducting advanced experiments and projects. Provide technical support and contribute to the development of new protocols and methodologies. Quality Control : Perform quality control checks on test results and procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency. Collaborate with the quality assurance (QA) team to maintain laboratory accreditation and certification standards. Key Qualifications : Education : Diploma or Bachelor s degree in Laboratory Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field. Experience : 1-3 years of experience working in a laboratory setting is preferred. Familiarity with laboratory safety standards and practices. Skills : Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in recording data. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with lab software and data management tools. Basic computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word). Attributes : Ability to follow precise instructions and protocols. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Team player with a positive, professional attitude. Working Conditions : Lab-based work environment. Handling hazardous materials and chemicals; strict adherence to safety protocols is required. May involve standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks. Shift work, overtime, or weekend hours may be required, depending on the laboratory s operational needs.
