Job Title: Lead Designer-Railways Location: Hyderabad, India Experience: minimum 5-6 years Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role We are looking for a passionate and skilled Railways Lead Designer to join us as the first hire in our in-house design team. This is a nigh-impact role offering the opportunity to lead, shape, and grow the design function within our rapidly expanding infrastructure company You will play a critical role in delivering railway design solutions with a focus on value engineering design efficiency , and regulatory compliance Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed railway drawings including but not limited to: a) ESP (Engineering Scale Plan) drawings b) L-Sections c) General Arrangement Drawings (GADS) d) Bridge and structure designs Lead design planning and support for ongoing and upcoming Railway EPC Projects Drive value engineering by identifying and implementing cost-effective design alternatives. Liaise with Railways and relevant authorities to obtain timely approvals for all designs. Monitor design compliance with relevant Railway codes and standards. Stay updated on alternate materials , new technologies, and approval processes Provide technical guidance to project teams and site execution staff during construction. Help build a strong, scalable design team over time. Ideal Candidate Profile: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (Master's preferred). Should have worked on railway design assignments such as surveys, alignment design, yards, L Sections, Cross sections, etc. including preparation of Drawings and Design Report. Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and relevant railway design software/tools. Thorough understanding of Railway design codes, MoR guidelines, ROSO specifications, and approval workflow. Strong interest in materials innovation , sustainable design practices and the civil design ecosystem. Experience in stakeholder management and coordination with consultants, contractors, and government bodies. Strong communication and leadership qualities comfortable being the go-to person for all design matters.
