Learn more at www.ocs.services Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and technically strong Lead – Mechanical Top Side to take responsibility for the maintenance and operation of mechanical systems, process plant equipment, and utilities onboard the FPSO. This role requires a hands-on leader with in-depth knowledge of topside equipment and utilities, strong team supervision skills, and a safety-first mindset. The position plays a critical role in maintaining operational reliability, safety compliance, and equipment performance. Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Operations LeadershipLead daily maintenance tasks for topside process equipment, utilities, and mechanical systems using CMMS (SAP/Maximo).Ensure job planning, execution, and feedback are completed efficiently with accurate equipment condition and spare part usage reporting.Coordinate isolations, shutdowns, and restarts, including post-blackout machinery reactivation.Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is executed according to schedules and CMMS guidelines.Health, Safety, and Environmental ComplianceIdentify and manage risks related to mechanical tasks within the Permit to Work system.Conduct and participate in Job Safety Analysis, toolbox talks, and gas testing as per safety procedures.Minimize environmental emissions and spills through proactive measures and prompt corrective action.Review and support continuous improvement of HSSEQA management systems onboard.Team Leadership & TrainingSupervise and guide mechanical team members and technicians.Mentor team through active participation in training programs and safety drills.Provide leadership during Emergency Response drills and duties as per Station Bill.Data Management & PlanningMaintain accurate records of maintenance work, history, and feedback within CMMS.Oversee VCM data collection, lube oil analysis, and other Class-approved CBM programs.Assist the Maintenance Superintendent in planning and supervising major repairs and modifications.Inventory & Spare ManagementCollaborate with the Maintenance Superintendent to manage stores, spare parts, and inventory levels.Ensure availability of critical spares and track inventory to avoid downtime. Qualifications & ExperienceEducationBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.ExperienceMinimum 10 years’ experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, or related industry.At least 3–5 years in a lead/supervisory role.FPSO or tanker-based operations experience is highly preferred.Proven experience with rotating equipment, utilities, and process equipment.Strong exposure to CMMS platforms like SAP or Maximo.Familiarity with industry standards, emergency protocols, and safety regulations.Experience working in a multinational environment is a plus. Skills & CompetenciesLeadership & CommunicationStrong supervisory and leadership abilities in offshore environments.Clear, concise communication skills in written and verbal formats.Capable of leading toolbox meetings, managing conflicts, and making sound decisions under pressure.Technical & Operational KnowledgeDeep understanding of mechanical systems, topside processes, and rotating equipment.Knowledge of condition-based maintenance, VCM, and lube oil analysis.Familiar with HSSEQA protocols, Permit to Work systems, and emergency drills.Proficient in inventory and stock level management.Certifications & Other RequirementsCurrent BOSIET/FOET certificate is mandatory.Must meet all additional training/qualification requirements as per the FPSO Training Matrix.
