We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Network Security Engineer to join our Network Engineering team at D. E. Shaw India, based in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, or Gurugram. This is a hands-on technical role within a cross-functional team responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a secure enterprise network infrastructure. You will be responsible for projects that include researching and delivering solutions to improve the security posture of our external and internal networks and minimizing information security risks for the firm. WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY: In this role, you will design, implement, and manage the firm's network security infrastructure in collaboration with the Network and InfoSec teams. You will engage in engineering project work and provide tier-2/3 operational support to enhance the overall configurability, observability, supportability, reliability, and security of the firm's enterprise technology environment. You will also develop and maintain automation to support other engineers by improving efficiency, focusing on tooling and automation within the network security space. You will work closely with the Network and InfoSec teams to deliver cohesive and integrated security solutions. Additionally, you will upgrade and/or redesign existing infrastructure to improve performance and stability. You will also mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment. Furthermore, you will manage projects from requirements-gathering stage to delivery, ensuring timelines and objectives are met. WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR: Basic qualifications: A bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science and engineering or a related technical discipline, with at least 5 years of experience in the network security domain. Extensive hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls, DLP solutions, proxies, and related environments Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including the TCP/IP stack, switching, and routing Proficiency in developing and supporting tooling and automation within the network security environment Previous experience in the design and end-to-end implementation of performant, reliable, and secure network security systems Excellent troubleshooting capabilities and experience with diagnostic tools in Linux environments Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks Interested candidates can apply through our website: https://www.deshawindia.com/recruit/jobs/Adv/Link/LdTechEngSREApr25 We encourage candidates with relevant experience looking to restart their careers after a break to apply for this position.
