Legal Associate- Customer Relation

Job Description

Role Description: We are looking for an Associate in the Legal Team who could be a fresher or have up to one year of experience in the legal field, either in a practicing or corporate domain. This role requires extensive interaction with customers via calls to provide legal guidance and support. Key Responsibilities: Managing customer responses from start to finish. Educating Customers on Legal Rights: Provide detailed information to customers on how to handle creditor harassment, including their rights under debt collection laws and how to deal with aggressive collection tactics. This will involve regular phone interactions with customers. Customer Support & Guidance: Engage with customers facing creditor harassment related to loan recovery, offering guidance on their rights and legal protections. Advise them on the steps they can take to stop harassment and resolve disputes effectively. This will be done primarily through calls. Resolve Payment Disputes: Assist customers in resolving disputes related to payment terms, creditor actions, or misunderstandings regarding the loan or repayment schedule. Draft suitable responses to the notices received by the customers. Conduct legal research and provide advisory support to customers. Ensure Legal Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all communication and collection activities comply with consumer protection laws and relevant regulations (e.g., Fair Debt Collection Practices Act). Maintain detailed records of all interactions and agreements in the companys collection system. Escalation Handling: Identify and escalate complex cases involving harassment or severe disputes to the appropriate legal or management team for resolution. Collaborate with Legal and Customer Support Teams: Work closely with legal, customer service, and management teams to ensure compliance with regulations and to provide a holistic solution for the customers financial challenges. Update and consult with senior associates or HOD regarding legal matters. Guide cross-functional teams in providing appropriate responses to customer queries. Experience & Qualifications: 0 -1 year of relevant experience in a similar industry. Law degree completed or in the final year of study. Attention to detail is a key skill for this role. Working knowledge of MS Office. Comfortable with extensive customer interaction via calls.
