Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Linguist to join our team, responsible for analyzing and interpreting language data to improve communication, translation, or data processing systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in one or more areas of linguistics (e.g., phonetics, syntax, semantics, pragmatics) and be able to apply this knowledge to real-world problems. Key Responsibilities: Analyze language data and apply linguistic theories to improve language processing systems. Conduct research in various subfields of linguistics, including phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and sociolinguistics. Develop and maintain language resources such as corpora, lexicons, and grammars. Work on machine learning projects, improving Natural Language Processing (NLP) systems for tasks such as text analysis, speech recognition, or machine translation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and language experts, to design language-related tools or products. Provide linguistic expertise for content development, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness for different linguistic and cultural contexts. Document linguistic findings, create reports, and present results to stakeholders. Required Skills & Qualifications: A Masters degree or Ph.D. in Linguistics or a related field. Strong understanding of linguistic concepts such as phonetics, syntax, morphology, and semantics. Experience in corpus linguistics, language modeling, or NLP. Familiarity with computational tools such as Python, R, or specialized linguistic software (e.g., Praat, ELAN, or Anaconda). Proficiency in one or more foreign languages is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
