CICS/ Non-CICS Mainframe Developer 6-12 years Strong hands-on coder/developer We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in CICS (Customer Information Control System) to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working on mainframe applications, supporting enterprise-level systems, and developing robust solutions using CICS. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of mainframe applications while ensuring high performance, scalability, and security. Responsibilities: Mainframe Application Development: Develop and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS. Ensure that solutions align with business needs and are optimized for performance. CICS Application Design: Design and implement CICS-based solutions, including transaction processing, screen handling, and batch processing. System Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for mainframe applications, focusing on CICS systems. Identify and resolve performance issues, ensuring minimal downtime. Code Optimization: Optimize COBOL and CICS code for better performance, scalability, and resource utilization. Perform debugging and testing of applications. Database Interaction: Work with DB2 and other mainframe databases to ensure seamless integration between the applications and databases. Quality Assurance: Participate in code reviews, write unit tests, and ensure high-quality deliverables. Follow development best practices and standards for CICS and mainframe development. Documentation and Reporting: Document development processes, system designs, and updates to ensure clear understanding and support for future troubleshooting. Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members, including systems analysts, business analysts, and project managers, to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business objectives. Required Skills and Qualifications: Technical Skills: Strong expertise in COBOL programming, CICS transaction management, and JCL scripting. Experience with DB2 and other mainframe databases. In-depth knowledge of CICS , including CICS regions, transaction processing, and screen handling. Proficient in IBM z/OS mainframe operating system. Experience with VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method) and IMS (Information Management System). Strong understanding of mainframe batch processing and job scheduling. Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a mainframe developer, with at least 2 years of experience working with CICS . Familiarity with mainframe testing tools and debugging techniques. Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in a mainframe environment. Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
