Maintenance Engineer- Cold Rolling (Steel Plant)

Job Description

Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Attend to electrical breakdowns, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution to minimize downtime. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance of electrical equipment like motors, transformers, control panels, and PLC systems. Operation Monitoring: Monitor the electrical parameters of the rolling mill, control systems, and auxiliary equipment. Ensure proper functioning of automation systems (PLC, SCADA, and HMI). Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations. Conduct safety checks and follow LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures during maintenance work. Documentation: Maintain logs and records of electrical maintenance activities, breakdown reports, and spare parts usage. Update shift reports and communicate effectively with the next shift engineer. Team Management and Coordination: Coordinate with mechanical and production teams for smooth plant operations. Supervise and guide technicians for planned and unplanned maintenance tasks. Energy Management: Monitor and analyze energy consumption to identify areas for energy conservation. Ensure the optimum use of electrical resources. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in plant electrical systems and suggest modifications. Participate in kaizen activities and other improvement initiatives.
