Key Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Market Research and Trend Analysis: Conduct market research to identify current fashion trends, consumer preferences, and emerging styles. Analyze competitor products and pricing strategies to inform product development. 2. Product Development and Line Planning: Collaborate with design teams to develop new product lines and collections. Create line plans, ensuring that they align with market trends and brand strategy. 3. Sourcing and Supplier Management: Identify and establish relationships with suppliers. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to optimize costs and quality. 4. Costing and Budgeting: Develop and manage budgets for each product line or collection. Monitor production costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality. 5. Order Planning and Management: Develop production schedules and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery. Monitor order progress and address any delays or issues in production. 6. Quality Control and Assurance: Set and communicate quality standards to suppliers. Conduct rigorous quality inspections at various stages of production to maintain high standards. 7. Sample Development and Approval: Oversee the sample development process, ensuring that samples meet design specifications and quality standards. Provide feedback and approvals for samples before mass production. 8. Inventory Management and Demand Forecasting: Implement inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels and turnover. Utilize data and analytics to forecast demand and plan production accordingly. 9. Logistics and Supply Chain Management: Coordinate transportation, shipping, and delivery schedules to meet production and delivery deadlines. 10. Team Leadership and Development:Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of merchandisers and coordinators.Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. 11. Strategic Planning and Decision-Making: Contribute to the development of overall business and merchandising strategies. Make informed decisions regarding product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies. 12. Client and Stakeholder Communication: Act as a key point of contact for clients, buyers, and other stakeholders. Provide regular updates on order status, production progress, and any relevant information. 13. Compliance and Ethics: Ensure that all production processes adhere to ethical and legal standards, including labor rights and environmental regulations. Monitor and enforce compliance with industry-specific certifications and standards. 14. Problem-solving and Troubleshooting: Address and resolve complex issues or challenges that arise during the production process. Propose and implement solutions to improve efficiency and productivity. Educational Qualifications & Work Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred) with minimum 5+ years experience into Merchandising in Textile / Garments / Carpets / Rugs Manufacturing. - Proven track record in sourcing and merchandising luxury clothing materials, with global supplier network expertise. - Strong understanding of luxury market dynamics, customer expectations, and emerging trends. - Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills. - Excellent communication skills.
