Manager Power Evacuation Planning (Renewable Energy Projects) Job Overview: The Manager Power Evacuation Planning is responsible for leading the design, planning, and implementation of power evacuation strategies for renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and hybrid power plants. This role involves ensuring seamless grid connectivity, obtaining regulatory approvals, coordinating with government agencies and utilities, and optimizing transmission infrastructure for efficient power evacuation. Key Responsibilities: Power Evacuation Strategy Planning: Develop and implement power evacuation plans for renewable energy projects to ensure seamless integration with the grid. Conduct feasibility studies for power evacuation routes, transmission infrastructure, and grid interconnection points. Optimize transmission network design, substation layout, and power evacuation schemes to minimize losses and enhance efficiency. Regulatory Compliance Approvals: Ensure compliance with national and state grid codes, transmission regulations, and renewable energy policies. Obtain necessary approvals from CTU, STU, CERC, SERC, PGCIL, DISCOMs, and SLDC/RLDC for grid connectivity and transmission agreements. Manage regulatory filings for grid connection applications, load flow studies, and power evacuation agreements. Liaison Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with government authorities, transmission utilities, and regulatory agencies to facilitate approvals and permits. Work closely with internal teams, including project development, engineering, and EPC contractors, to align power evacuation strategies with project timelines. Engage with DISCOMs and utilities for power purchase agreements (PPAs) and open access approvals. Technical Analysis System Studies: Oversee power system studies, including load flow analysis, short circuit studies, relay coordination, and grid impact assessments. Evaluate transmission capacity, fault levels, and voltage stability for grid integration. Use power system simulation tools (ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT) to analyze power evacuation feasibility and grid stability. Project Execution Monitoring: Supervise the execution of power evacuation infrastructure, including substations, transmission lines, and grid interconnections. Ensure timely commissioning of grid connectivity infrastructure and resolve technical challenges during implementation. Monitor and optimize power evacuation performance post project commissioning. Risk Assessment Mitigation: Identify risks related to grid connectivity, curtailment, and transmission bottlenecks. Develop contingency plans and alternative evacuation routes to ensure uninterrupted power evacuation. Assess policy changes and grid expansion plans to align future power evacuation strategies.
