Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities Lead cross-functional teams to develop new products, including design development, prototyping, testing, and production planning. Conduct DFMEA studies to identify potential failures in product designs and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues through VAVE processes. Develop APQP plans for new projects and manage them throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure compliance with CAE standards by conducting finite element analysis (FEA) simulations. Ensure compliance with GD&T standards during design process. Desired Candidate Profile Masters or Bachelors degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related field. Experience in Automotive Environment with Steering or other proprietary system suppliers and manufacturers. 10 to 15yrs years of experience in steering column design, mechanical design, or a related role in the automotive industry. Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA - preferred), Parametric, Macro are Added advantage. Knowledge of automotive materials and manufacturing processes (e.g., Die casting, Sheetmetal, Tube Forming, Hot Forging, Cold Forging, Drawing, Machining, & Etc.). Familiarity with DFMEA, DFMA, and Problem-Solving methodologies (QC Tools, 8D, etc.) Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics and NVH principles. MATLAB, Python Coding added advantage. Hands on Experience in any PLM software. (3D Experience added advantage) Skills and Competencies: Technical Expertise : Proficient in CAD software, FEA, and Automotive Design Standards. Analytical and Problem-Solving : Experience with root cause analysis, durability testing, and design optimization. Project Coordination : Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Soft Skills : Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and commitment to product quality and safety, Team Handling.
