Job Title: VMC Machine Assembly Manager Job Summary: The VMC Machine Assembly Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the assembly process of VMC machines, ensuring that all machines are built to high-quality standards and within the specified time frame. This position requires a strong understanding of CNC/VMC machining, assembly processes, and leadership skills to manage teams and ensure smooth operations in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Supervision & Leadership : Lead, train, and manage a team of assembly technicians, engineers, and other personnel involved in the CNC-VMC machine assembly process. Assign tasks, monitor work progress, and ensure that all deadlines are met. Provide continuous improvement suggestions and develop team skills through training and mentoring. Machine Assembly : Oversee the assembly of CNC/VMC machines from start to finish, ensuring all parts and components are correctly installed, aligned, and calibrated. Ensure machines are tested and verified for performance, accuracy, and reliability after assembly. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the assembly process. Quality Control : Ensure that machines meet company and industry standards for quality, precision, and safety. Develop and maintain inspection processes to verify quality during each stage of assembly. Implement corrective actions when defects or issues are identified. Process Improvement : Identify inefficiencies in the assembly process and work on improving workflows, reducing waste, and increasing productivity. Collaborate with other departments (engineering, production, etc.) to optimize machine assembly processes. Inventory & Parts Management : Manage the inventory of parts, tools, and materials required for assembly, ensuring proper stock levels and timely procurement. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for the timely delivery of components. Safety & Compliance : Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies during the assembly process. Conduct regular safety training for team members and maintain a safe working environment. Reporting : Provide regular reports on assembly progress, quality, and any issues that need attention to senior management. Analyze and report on machine performance, assembly metrics, and improvements. Collaboration with Engineering and Design Teams : Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure that CNC/VMC machine designs are feasible and can be assembled efficiently. Provide feedback on design for manufacturability and recommend design modifications when necessary. Qualifications: Education : Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field. (Alternatively, relevant experience in CNC/VMC machining or assembly may be considered.) Experience : At least 10 years of experience in VMC machine assembly or manufacturing, with 4+ years in a leadership or supervisory role. Strong knowledge of CNC/VMC machines, assembly techniques, and quality control standards. Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving in an assembly or manufacturing environment. Skills : Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming is a plus. Understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and blueprint reading. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments.
