Job Description

Marketing Researcher Overview of the role As a member of the Marketing team at Target, you will expand efforts to collaborate with guests (consumers) and help shape the ideal end-user experience and drive strategic conversations. You will play a key role in bridging the gap between business and guests through research by collaborating with multiple stakeholders including product owners, merchandisers, category managers, creative and engineering teams. You will be expected to develop and execute research plans and keep the guest at the forefront of the process and evangelize the value of multi-faceted approach to research that includes both qualitative and quantitative techniques. Target leverages various secondary and proprietary sources of data together with mobile ethnography, remote user testing, multi-variate analysis and other such techniques/tools to conduct research studies based on specific use cases. As an advocate for the end user, you ll be expected to frame behavioral findings into compelling insights and stories to establish user empathy on the team and drive effective changes. Your work will have to include actionable recommendations for teams to then run with and achieve desired business goals for the organization. Responsibilities Contribute in identifying best method or mix of methods for the research plan, timeline and resourcing. Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and develop research plan based on analysis of knowledge gaps, project goals and risks. Assist in user research and report findings. Help Perform thorough qualitative/quantitative analysis in order to create meaningful insights and actionable recommendations. Work on an iterative approach through close alignment with design, development and business teams to influence the strategy of the project. Skills Basic knowledge of quantitative data analysis and statistics from a business perspective. Been part of field research, preparing survey design, generating and distilling reports from market intelligence tracking platforms. Know-how of lab-based user testing, remote testing, prototype testing and concept testing. Contribute in creating performance reports for campaigns/digital products/brand(s). Manage ambiguity, work autonomously, meet deadlines and multi-task in an agile environment. Preferred background (one or more of these) Exposure to product development environments Retail/E-commerce experience
