Job Description

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you are responsible for contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. It includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for: Executing the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. Working for mechanical engineering for all products Resolving problems through the application of acquired expertise guided by precedent. Working together with people from the business unit. Contacts are under guidance and/or geared towards specifying activities, planning of activities and giving explanations on technical issues. Communicating with direct team and supervisor. Presents to internal teams on metrics, project status and research. To be successful in this role you will: Have a Bachelors or masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar. Have minimum 0 to 3 years of industrial experience in mechanical equipment design and application, Able to Understand thermodynamics, rotordynamic, materials of turbomachinery product. Product knowledge on centrifugal compressor is added advantage. Able to demonstrate good computer skills and be familiar with cad modelling along with GD&T, FEA, programming. Able to work in experienced people team giving an active contribution to the design and decision-making process. Have an open approach to problem solving and expanding the current theory to fill the gaps. Have experience and background in manufacturing / reliability / material science is a plus. Have basic knowledge of manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, welding or cutting etc is a plus. Able to execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements. Can Document and communicate results of technical data generated. Able to Prepare and present technical data to internal customers. Able to participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives. Able to share engineering information and promote open dialogue. Able to Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business. Able to assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
