Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:  Design and develop 2D and 3D models of material handling equipment such as manipulators, conveyors, lifts, trolleys and customized systems. Create detailed manufacturing drawings, assembly instructions, and BOMs (Bill of Materials). Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and procurement to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability. Analyze mechanical systems and components to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. Modify existing designs to improve performance, cost-efficiency, and ease of manufacturing. Participate in client meetings to understand technical requirements and propose design solutions. Conduct tolerance analysis, load calculations, and stress analysis as required. Maintain documentation for design revisions and ensure adherence to internal design protocols. Support prototype development, testing, and troubleshooting. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, in the material handling or manufacturing industry. Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks is mandatory. Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and fabrication processes. Experience with sheet metal design, welding structures, and mechanical assemblies. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
