Network L2 Engineer

Job Description

Provide L2-level support for Cisco network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers. Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis of network issues, ensuring minimal downtime. Configure and maintain VLANs, STP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VPNs, and QoS settings. Collaborate with L3 engineers and architects for escalation and resolution of complex network issues. Monitor network performance and security using tools like SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, and Wireshark. Support network hardware/software upgrades, patch management, and firmware updates. Implement and maintain network security policies, including ACLs and firewall rules. Coordinate with vendors and service providers for circuit troubleshooting and maintenance. Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Provide technical support during major incidents and participate in post-incident reviews.
