An IT Support Engineer is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting the IT infrastructure within an organization. This role involves responding to technical issues, installing hardware/software, ensuring network security, assisting end-users with technical problems, and managing IT assets effectively. Role & responsibilities Technical Support & Troubleshooting:Provide first-line technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person.Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues.Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.Support operating systems such as Windows & macOS.Assist with software installations, updates, and licensing compliance.Network & Security Management:Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi).Ensure data security and perform regular system backups.Assist in implementing cybersecurity measures to protect IT assets.System Administration:Manage Active Directory, user accounts, and access control.Support cloud-based applications (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).Maintain IT asset inventory and document system configurations.IT Asset Management:Track, manage, and maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT assets, including hardware and software.Ensure proper asset tagging, allocation, and decommissioning of outdated equipment.Conduct periodic audits to verify asset records and compliance.Manage software licenses and ensure compliance with company policies.Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate and purchase IT equipment.Preferred candidate profile Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).3+ years of experience in IT support or a similar role.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of networking, hardware, and operating systems.Excellent communication and customer service skills.
