Instrumentation Technician Oil & Gas IndustryWe are seeking certified Instrumentation Technicians with industrial oil field experience to join our overseas client's team. Below is the complete job description with the roles, responsibilities, and requirements as outlined in the provided document.Location - OVERSEAS ClientRoles & ResponsibilitiesKnowledgePossess a solid understanding of operating processes related to instrumentation.Have a comprehensive knowledge of precision measurement and calibration.Service and repair electronic equipment.Apply the principles of Electronics, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Mechanics, and Chemistry.Understand the monitoring processes involved in process quality control.Service, repair, fabricate, and assemble trade-related electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic components, and process connections.Maintain and apply Occupational Health and Safety codes and standards.Perform assigned tasks in accordance with quality and production standards required by the industry.Material procurement skills able to source specific items, find alternative options for backordered materials, and explore various brands.Knowledge of flare stacks capable of troubleshooting ignitors, temperature controllers, winch systems, and pilot regulators.Familiarity with start-up procedures able to assist operations with process troubleshooting and provide basic start-up support for customers after project completion.Communication & TeamworkThis position requires adapting to swiftly evolving technologies and client needs.Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn new competencies are vital.You must be able to communicate effectively with consultants, engineers, other trades, and crews to fulfill instrumentation tasks at the job site.You should be capable of proposing alternatives and solutions to engineering challenges, as many OSRs come from a mechanical background and may need this support.Leading safety and tailgate meetings is necessary, requiring you to be articulate and confident.You need to assess and estimate work requirements accurately.Proficiency in computer skills is required, including using Bluebeam, managing emails, handling scope changes, creating RFIs, maintaining QAQC documentation, ordering materials, and managing work tickets.TechnicalProficient in reading, interpreting, and working with technical drawings (P&IDs, loop diagrams, system architecture).Skilled in design using SmartPlant P&ID and experienced in creating instrument indexes/databases, along with basic AutoCAD skills. Also, interpret Cable Schedules, Mechanical ISOs, and PLC drawings.Competent in programming applications for DCS systems and developing HMIs, with experience in Emerson Delta-V and ABB 800xA.Capable of commissioning and troubleshooting pneumatic systems, 12v & 24v control systems, and 4-20mA control loops.Strong understanding of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.Comprehensive knowledge of DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.Experienced in repairing and troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation, control equipment, and emission monitoring instrumentation.Conduct installation, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of protective relays, computers, metering, monitoring, and control systems for gas turbines, generators, and plant auxiliary equipment.Inspect and test the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical, and electronic testing devices alongside precision measuring instruments.Proficient in bending and installing Swagelok tubing (1) efficiently, including racking 2-10 lines while understanding the installation sequence.Experienced in performing and documenting Quality Assurance checks and calibration reports.Capable of determining suitable locations for instrument mounting and routing raceway support for tubing installations.Proficient in understanding pipe fitting specifications, ANSI ratings, process ratings, pressure ratings, and sizing.Skilled in cutting and threading piping from up to 1 when necessary.Capable of rebuilding and/or resizing control valves, actuators, pumps, regulators, and PSVs.Knowledgeable about pneumatic and hydraulic loops, including understanding latches, solenoids, regulators, and high/low pressure pilots, with the ability to bypass and test while the process is live.Skilled in meter calibrations, able to calibrate MVS devices to various RTUs and generate reports.Proficient in gas detection calibration, troubleshooting, and sensor replacement for any brand.Experienced in device calibrations for pressure, flow, temperature, etc., including transmitters, gauges, and switches.Knowledgeable in analyzer setup, calibration, and operation.Important InformationCompensation:CA$ 42 - CA$45 per hourBenefits:Starter Toolkit Program.Excellent Pay & Benefits.Retirement Savings Program.Opportunity for Advancement.Safety Training and Basic PPE Provided.Years of Service Recognition.Referral Program.RequirementsMust possess maintenance and industrial oil field instrumentation experience of at least 5 years.Must be a certified Instrumentation Technician.Must be able to take initiative, work independently as well as in a team.Must be reliable and dependable (i.e., punctual and ready to work).Excellent communication skills (i.e., fluid English).A demonstrated ability to work safely.Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.Ability to work in conditions ranging from minus 40C to plus 30C.Safety site requirements include: clean-shaven, no beards, and the ability to wear a hardhat.Pre-access drug & alcohol testing.Safety Training:Safety Compliance TrainingAdditional Skills (An Asset):Knowledgeable about conducting pressure testing.Proficient in working without drawings and understanding requests and scope of work from verbal instructions, especially regarding process protection or control requirements.Basic understanding of combustion, including potential burner management system issues.Apply TodayJoin our team for a challenging yet rewarding career in instrumentation.
