The Oracle DBA will be responsible for managing the performance, integrity, and security of our Oracle database systems. This role requires expertise in handling Oracle databases, optimizing database performance, ensuring high availability, and maintaining data consistency. The selected candidate will gain extensive exposure and hands-on experience in Greenplum Database Administration (DBA). Key Responsibilities : Database Management : Manage and maintain Oracle databases (12c, 18c, 19c, or later versions), ensuring high availability and reliability across the organization. Perform database administration tasks, including user management, backup and recovery, and database migration. Ensure proper configuration of Oracle instances and databases to align with best practices and company requirements. Performance Optimization : Monitor and analyze database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks. Perform database tuning and optimization to improve query performance and reduce downtime. Implement measures to ensure database scalability and reliability under increasing workloads. Migration and Upgrades : Lead database migrations, upgrades, and patch management to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure. Work on transitioning databases from older versions or other platforms to Oracle, ensuring smooth and efficient migrations. Backup, Recovery, and Security : Develop, implement, and manage robust database backup and disaster recovery processes. Ensure data security and access control through encryption, auditing, and regular security reviews. Automation and Scripting : Develop and maintain shell scripts for database automation tasks, including backups, restores, data extraction, and performance monitoring. Automate routine database administration tasks to improve efficiency and minimize manual effort. Collaboration and Support : Work closely with application teams to support application development, deployment, and integration. Provide database-related support and collaborate with stakeholders to implement new features and solutions. Academic Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional [OCP]) are a plus. Experience : 2-6 years of experience in database administration, with at least 2 years of experience in Oracle databases. Proven experience in handling large-scale Oracle database implementations and migrations Technical Skills : Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, and backup/recovery processes. Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and shell scripting. Familiarity with Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters), Data Guard, and ASM (Automatic Storage Management). Experience with database monitoring and automation tools (e.g., Oracle Enterprise Manager, RMAN). Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and related tools for database administration. Soft Skills : Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities. Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines. Strong team player with leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
