Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paint Technologist to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the blasting and painting processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and production targets. This role requires a strong background in surface coating and paint technology, with a focus on achieving operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Production Management: Achieve production targets as per the plan while maintaining efficiency and quality. Monitor material handling to minimize rework and reduce costs. Ensure shop floor discipline, adherence to safety practices, and good housekeeping. Surface Preparation Blasting: Monitor blasting processes, including air pressure, abrasive contamination, and moisture content. Measure and control ambient conditions (humidity, surface temperature, salt contamination). Verify surface profile using replica tape and other tools. Painting Process: Ensure compliance with approved painting procedures/specifications during the application process. Conduct and monitor both destructive and non-destructive tests, such as DFT, cross-cut tests, pull-off adhesion tests, and pinhole detection. Collaborate with the Quality team for inspections and testing. Documentation and Standards Compliance: Maintain detailed records of blasting and painting parameters in inspection reports. Ensure adherence to national and international standards for blasting and coating processes. Implement IMS, Kaizen initiatives, and cost-reduction strategies. Safety and Quality: Promote and enforce safety procedures at all levels of the production process. Ensure quality requirements are met to achieve customer satisfaction. Team Collaboration and Relations: Maintain harmonious industrial relations on the shop floor. Foster teamwork and collaboration for continuous improvement in operations. Qualifications: Education: Diploma in Surface Coating or Paint Technology. Experience: 2-3 years in the protective coating application industry. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with blasting/coating standards (national and international). Knowledge of quality standards and health safety regulations. Proficiency in performing and interpreting tests for surface preparation and coating application. Skills: Strong decision-making and results-driven mindset. Excellent computer proficiency and documentation skills. Effective communication and team collaboration abilities.
