Role & responsibilities Using technical equipment to safely draw blood from patients Reassuring and calming patients who might be nervous or scared of the procedure Labeling and handling blood samples accurately Following safety protocols to prevent contamination or infection Maintaining an organized and clean work area based on health and safety regulations and the guidelines of the medical institution Answering patient questions regarding collection techniques and offering additional resources on the collection process, if the patient requests them Preferred candidate profile Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills Basic computer skills Analyzing information, critical thinking, and problem solving Being able to adapt to different situations and patient needs is important.
