Job Description: A highly skilled Senior Database Engineer with extensive experience in Oracle PL/SQL and performance tuning. Key Objectives/Responsibilities of this Role: Design, develop, and maintain complex database systems using Oracle PL/SQL. Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and query optimization. Collaborate with application developers to provide database support for software application Performance Analyze and resolve database performance issues, ensuring high availability and reliability. Implement best practices for application development, data security and integrity. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database structures, procedures, and configurations. Lead and mentor junior database engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Stay updated with emerging database technologies and trends, recommending improvements to the current architecture Mandatory Skillset & Tools: 3-5 years of experience in database engineering, specifically with Oracle databases. Proficiency in PL/SQL programming and performance tuning. Strong understanding of database architecture, data modeling, and schema design. Experience with tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL Developer, and performance analysis tools. Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies, as well as high-availability solutions. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Secondary Skill: Proficiency with Git for version control and collaboration. Experience in Agile/Scrum development processes. Understanding of continuous integration and deployment pipelines. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and database services. Knowledge of tools for automation, monitoring, and logging. Behavioral Attributes: Self-driven and proactive. Plan and execute projects in a timely fashion meeting the business requirements Experience coordinating activities across different business teams and stakeholders Continuous process improvement / quality assurance experience is a plus Proactively identify potential problems and implementing solutions Preferred Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
