The PMO Construction - Solar is responsible for overseeing and managing the Project Management Office (PMO) functions for solar energy construction projects. This role involves the development, implementation, and monitoring of project management processes, tools, and resources across multiple solar construction projects. The PMO Construction will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that solar projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Project Governance & Oversight: Provide strategic direction, support, and governance for the construction phase of solar projects, ensuring that they align with organizational goals and standards. Oversee project portfolios to ensure resources are allocated efficiently. Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop and enforce project timelines, milestones, and schedules for solar construction projects. Ensure that all phases of construction are progressing according to the project plan. Process Standardization: Implement and standardize project management processes, tools, templates, and methodologies across multiple solar construction projects to ensure consistency and efficiency in execution. Resource & Budget Management: Ensure that appropriate resources (labor, materials, equipment) are available for construction projects. Oversee the budgeting process, ensuring that costs are controlled, and financial goals are met without compromising quality or safety. Risk & Issue Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with the construction of solar projects. Work proactively with project teams to resolve issues and mitigate risks that could impact the project timeline, quality, or budget. Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Track and report the progress of construction activities, including milestones, timelines, budgets, and risks. Prepare regular updates and reports for senior management, stakeholders, and clients. Collaboration with Stakeholders: Collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication, timely decision-making, and alignment with project goals. Quality & Safety Assurance: Ensure that all construction activities follow the required safety standards and quality benchmarks. Work with quality control and safety teams to minimize risks and ensure that all construction work complies with industry standards. Documentation & Record Keeping: Oversee the accurate and thorough documentation of all project activities, including contracts, change orders, inspection reports, and meeting notes. Ensure proper record-keeping and compliance with industry standards and regulations. Continuous Improvement: Promote the continuous improvement of project management practices within the PMO to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve project delivery across all solar projects. Project Closeout: Ensure proper project closeout procedures, including final inspections, project documentation, and lessons learned, are completed. Provide feedback for future project improvements. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field (required). A Master s degree or certifications in Project Management (PMP, Prince2) is preferred. Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Prince2, or similar project management certifications are highly desirable. Certifications in solar or renewable energy systems are a plus. Skills: Project Management Expertise: Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and processes, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Solar Energy Knowledge: Familiarity with the specific requirements, challenges, and regulations of solar energy construction, including site preparation, foundation work, electrical systems, and panel installations. Resource Management: Expertise in managing and allocating resources (including labor, materials, and equipment) efficiently across construction projects to maximize productivity. Risk Management: Strong ability to identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies. Proactive in addressing challenges to minimize impact on project timelines, costs, and quality. Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with stakeholders, including project teams, contractors, clients, and regulatory bodies. Budgeting & Cost Control: Experience in overseeing project budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring that costs are controlled and within the allocated budget for solar construction projects. Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex project scenarios, identify potential issues, and make informed decisions to keep projects on track. Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: In-depth understanding of industry standards, construction codes, safety regulations, and environmental laws applicable to solar energy projects. Software Proficiency: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6), as well as familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend). Experience: Experience: 5+ years of experience in project management, with at least 2-3 years of experience in solar energy projects or construction of renewable energy infrastructure. PMO Experience: Proven track record in PMO functions, including governance, process development, resource management, and portfolio management across multiple projects. Leadership Experience: Strong leadership skills with experience in managing cross-functional teams, coordinating large-scale projects, and managing contractor relationships
