The PMO Planning - Solar professional plays a key role in the Project Management Office (PMO) by supporting the planning, scheduling, and monitoring of solar energy projects. This role ensures that solar projects are planned effectively, resources are allocated efficiently, and timelines and budgets are adhered to. The PMO Planner will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver solar projects successfully, meeting performance, quality, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning: Assist in the development of project plans for solar energy projects, including detailed schedules, resource allocation, and milestone tracking. Scheduling: Create and manage project timelines using project management software, ensuring that solar projects are completed on time. Resource Allocation: Coordinate with different teams to ensure the appropriate allocation of resources, materials, and personnel for each phase of the solar project. Risk Management: Assist in identifying project risks and develop mitigation plans to address potential delays, budget overruns, or resource shortages. Progress Monitoring: Track the progress of solar projects, update project schedules, and report on the status of timelines, deliverables, and costs. Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of the solar projects. Cost Control: Monitor project budgets and costs to ensure they align with the initial planning and take corrective actions if necessary. Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports, status updates, and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and solutions. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, project specifications, and meeting notes. Quality Assurance: Ensure that project planning adheres to industry standards, best practices, and company policies for quality and safety. Post-Project Review: Assist in conducting post-project reviews to assess performance, gather feedback, and apply lessons learned to future projects. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field (required). Additional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, Prince2) are a plus. Certifications: Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is desirable. Specific knowledge or certifications related to solar energy or renewable energy projects is an advantage. Skills: Project Management Software: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar) for creating and maintaining project schedules. Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with teams, contractors, and stakeholders effectively. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to anticipate and address potential issues or delays in the project lifecycle. Solar Energy Knowledge: Basic understanding of solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) technology, and the unique requirements of solar energy projects. Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, ensuring that all project documents and plans are accurate and complete. Experience: Experience: 4-5 years of experience in project planning or project management, preferably within the renewable energy or solar industry. Project Exposure: Experience working on solar energy projects or construction-related projects is highly desirable. Familiarity with Solar Systems: Understanding of solar project life cycles, from design and procurement to construction and commissioning, is a plus.
