Job Title: Powder Coating Engineer Department: Production / Surface Treatment Location: Jalgaon Company Overview: Spectrum Electrical Industries Limited is a leading manufacturer of electrical components including distribution boards, metal boxes, and fabricated assemblies. We specialize in end-to-end manufacturing solutions involving processes like fabrication, electroplating, powder coating, assembly, and dispatch. Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Powder Coating Engineer to oversee and optimize the powder coating process in our production unit. The ideal candidate will ensure high-quality finishing, reduce rework, and implement best practices to increase process efficiency and product durability. Key Responsibilities: Manage end-to-end powder coating operations including pre-treatment, coating, and curing processes. Monitor equipment (spray booths, ovens, guns) and ensure regular preventive maintenance. Ensure adherence to quality standards for coating thickness, finish, and corrosion resistance. Develop SOPs for powder coating processes and maintain documentation. Troubleshoot coating defects such as orange peel, pinholes, or poor adhesion. Supervise powder coating line operators and conduct training as needed. Work with the Quality team to perform inspections and implement corrective actions. Maintain records of materials consumption and ensure optimal inventory of powders and chemicals. Coordinate with production and planning teams for efficient scheduling of coating jobs. Qualifications: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering. 1-5 years of experience in powder coating in a manufacturing setup, preferably electrical or sheet metal. Strong knowledge of different types of powder coatings and surface pretreatment methods (phosphating, degreasing, etc.) Familiarity with testing equipment like DFT meters, adhesion testers, salt spray chambers. Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and 5S, Kaizen, or Lean practices. Skills Required: Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting. Leadership and team management capabilities.
