Job Description

Role & responsibilities Develop and implement production schedules to ensure timely completion of projects related to pressure vessels and heat exchangers. Coordinate with design, procurement, and production teams to ensure the smooth flow of material and manufacturing processes. Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to meet changing customer demands and project deadlines. Material Management: Work with the purchasing team to ensure timely procurement of raw materials, components, and other production-related supplies. Monitor stock levels and ensure that inventory is managed efficiently to avoid shortages or overstocking. Ensure that materials are available and accessible for fabrication and assembly tasks without delays. Production Control: Supervise the fabrication and welding processes, ensuring they meet industry standards for pressure vessels and heat exchangers. Implement lean manufacturing practices to reduce waste, improve throughput, and increase efficiency. Monitor quality control standards and ensure compliance with both internal and regulatory requirements. Troubleshoot production issues and work with relevant departments to resolve delays or quality concerns. Coordination and Communication: Act as the point of contact between the production team, management, and other departments for production-related matters. Maintain clear and effective communication with engineering, procurement, and quality assurance teams to resolve any issues that may arise during fabrication or assembly. Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of ongoing projects, production schedules, and any potential delays. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production schedules, material usage, and inventory management. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports, highlighting key performance indicators(KPIs), such as production efficiency, material wastage, and adherence to schedules. Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement in the production process. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Minimum 10-18 years of experience in production planning and control, specifically in a fabrication or manufacturing environment (preferably pressure vessels, heat exchangers, or related heavy industrial products). Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including welding, fabrication, machining, and assembly of pressure vessels and heat exchangers. Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ASME (or other relevant) standards. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using ERP systems (Enterprise Resource Planning) and production planning software. Lean manufacturing experience is a plus. Desired Skills: Experience with 6 Sigma or other quality management methodologies. Understanding of welding codes, material specifications, and fabrication drawings. Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data. A proactive and result-oriented individual who is self-motivated and can work independently as well as part of a team. Work Environment: The role is based in a fabrication facility, requiring occasional on-site presence to monitor production activities. The role may involve working with heavy machinery, welding operations, and other industrial equipment . Preferred candidate profile Perks and benefits
