It is the job of pre editing to catch mistakes before anything is printed and distributed to the public. Pre editing are involved at several stages in the process of turning manuscript into printed pages. Usually all the text and graphics for any newspaper, magazine, or book project are reviewed several times by pre editing who work for publishers. Job Description: Pre Editing check to ensure that: Spelling and style are correct and consistent the text matches the original page numbers, headings and captions are correct. Photos and illustrations are correctly captioned. Chapter headings match the contents table. The pages as a whole are logically arranged and look pleasing. To read copy in order to detect and mark (or correct) any grammatical, typographical, or compositional errors. Skills: Skilled in verbal and written English communication Strong analytical mind Positive attitude and good learner and grasping power Self-starter and ambitious Self-motivated Good at concentrating for long spells Interested in the publishing industry Academically: Graduation should be from English medium
