Overview The Primary Lower Secondary Fine Arts Teacher for the CAIE Curriculum plays a crucial role in shaping young minds through artistic expression. This position is essential in fostering an appreciation for the arts among students while aligning with the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) curriculum standards. The teacher will create a stimulating and supportive learning environment where students can explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills. By integrating lessons on various techniques, art history, and cultural contexts, the teacher helps students express their individuality while also enhancing their confidence and emotional intelligence. This role requires a passion for both teaching and the arts, as well as a commitment to the holistic development of each child. The ideal candidate will engage with the school community, collaborate with other educators, and contribute to the vibrant culture of the school, ensuring that the arts are valued as a significant part of the educational process. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging Fine Arts lesson plans for primary and lower secondary students. Teach various artistic disciplines, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media. Integrate the CAIE curriculum with creative art instruction. Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to foster improvement. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages creative exploration. Organize art exhibitions and showcases to display student work. Collaborate with other teachers to integrate art across the curriculum. Provide instruction on art history, cultural significance, and artists. Manage classroom behavior according to school policies and procedures. Utilize diverse teaching methods to cater to various learning styles. Incorporate technology in art lessons to enhance learning outcomes. Encourage students to discuss and critique their own and others work. Maintain a well organized and safe art studio/classroom. Involve parents and the community in art related activities. Stay updated on current trends in art education and pedagogical techniques. Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills. Required Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field. Teaching certification or license to teach in primary and lower secondary education. Experience teaching Fine Arts in a school setting, preferably with CAIE curriculum. Portfolio showcasing personal and student artwork. Strong understanding of various art techniques and materials. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty. Knowledge of child development principles and art education standards. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse classroom environment. Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning. Proficiency with technology and educational software for art instruction. Strong organizational and time management skills. Passionate about visual arts and teaching methodologies.
