Natus Sensory India are a leading manufacturer of medical devices and software for a range of solutions, including eight sensory nervous systems. Our mission is to improve patient outcomes in target markets through innovative screening, diagnostic and treatment solutions. We manufacture and distribute a range of medical device products used in the diagnosis of human disorders of sensory system and neural pathways. Location: Bangalore (remote). About The role The Principal PCB Design Engineer or PCB Layout Engineer will lead the layout design for our diverse global portfolio of medical devices. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement multiple subsystems, overseeing every stage of PCB design, fabrication, assembly, and testing. Your deep technical expertise and strategic insight will drive innovation and ensure the highest quality standards in our products. Essential duties and responsibilities of the position include PCB Design and Layout Development: o Create PCB component footprints compliant with IEC 60601-1, IPC-A-600, and relevant datasheets. o Develop multi-layer stack-ups (ranging from 4 to 16 layers), define board outlines, and set keepout areas. o Implement signal topology strategies, ensuring proper routing of differential pairs and controlled impedance lines with tight length matching. Documentation and Quality Assurance: o Produce detailed schematics, design documentation, fabrication drawings, and assembly specifications. o Prepare and release complete PCB design packages (including Gerber that meet rigorous quality and regulatory standards. o Oversee subsystem-level design verification, including EMC and acceptance testing. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership: o Work closely with hardware, mechanical, system, test, and manufacturing teams to develop innovative medical device solutions. o Lead and participate in technical review meetings, including placement, post-layout, schematic, and DFM reviews. o Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers while continuously updating best practices and design methodologies. o Work closely with External suppliers/vendors to ensure, Natus Sensory requirements are followed Qualifications Education Experience o Bachelor s degree in electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience. o 8+ years of progressive experience in PCB design and layout, strong background in the medical device industry is a plus but not mandatory. Technical Expertise o Proficiency with industry-standard ECAD tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, and OrCAD Capture (minimum 5 years of experience). o Demonstrated experience in high-speed digital system design, high-density interconnect (HDI) design methodologies, and power supply/analog circuit design. o Ability to interpret and apply component manufacturers datasheets to ensure optimal design performance. o Knowledge of EMC design for compliance with IEC 60601-1-2 standards is a strong advantage. Project Management Communication Skills o Proven ability to drive projects from concept through production in a regulated environment, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables. o Excellent organizational, research, and problem-solving skills with a self-starter attitude. o Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience interfacing directly with customers and cross-functional teams to understand and fulfill project requirements. Desirable Additional Skills o Experience in creating schematics, component selection, and driving layout design for integrated systems (including wireless, display, power, and battery subsystems). o Familiarity with CE product development processes, ensuring adherence to industry-specific regulatory standards.
