Job Description

Summary The Process Engineer is mainly responsible for developing and optimizing our manufacturing processes. Essential Functions Support the Production Team for surface mount electronics (SMT), through hole soldering, and mechanical part assemblies. Specifying new equipment and evaluation of new equipment, processes, and materials. Generating post build/DFM report and presenting to customers. Component analysis Failure Analysis Review customer engineering change orders and deviations and apply to the process. Process Improvement/Process Development for various Production gates Review customer returned materials. Yields review, development of corrective action and implementation of corrective actions. Occasional training of production personnel. Generate process documentation. New product introduction and development. Flexibility and the initiative to take on other roles/processes outside of the SMT area as needed. Work with the quotations group to quote new assemblies. Working closely with other members of the management team on product specifications and production schedules. Ensuring that all aspects of an operation or process meet specified regulations. Selecting, managing, and working with sub-contractors (vendors). Required & Preferred Education/Experience/Skills Associates or higher in Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred. 2+ years experience supporting manufacturing. Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 Solder Requirements IPC Solder Certification is a plus. Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standard for a quality management system (QMS). Experience in executing process optimization including process engineering. Excellent problem solver and ability to generate innovative solutions to broad range of issues. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret production and quality documents, drawings, and related industry materials. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and members of the business community. Work Environment/Physical & Mental Requirements This job operates in a manufacturing assembly environment. Frequently utilizes tools related to the production of PCBAs.
