The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, negotiating, and acquiring used or surplus laptops from various sources for the purpose of refurbishing and resale. This role is key to maintaining a consistent inventory pipeline and supporting our mission of sustainable technology reuse. Key Responsibilities: Source used laptops from businesses, educational institutions, government agencies, auctions, and other suppliers. Build and maintain relationships with key vendors, recyclers, wholesalers, and IT asset disposition (ITAD) companies. Evaluate laptop condition, models, specs, and quantities to ensure compatibility with refurbishment standards. Negotiate pricing, terms, and shipping with sellers. Maintain records of sourcing activities and supplier communications. Collaborate with the refurbishment and logistics teams to forecast inventory needs. Monitor market trends in used laptop pricing and availability. Ensure compliance with data security and ethical sourcing practices. Provide regular reports on sourcing KPIs and cost-effectiveness. Qualifications: Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or IT hardware sales preferred. Strong knowledge of laptop brands, models, and components (e.g., RAM, SSD, processors). Ability to assess used hardware for potential refurbishing. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Basic understanding of ITAD, R2/RIOS standards, or e-waste regulations is a plus. Organized, self-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and sourcing platforms like eBay, GovDeals, or liquidation marketplaces. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a refurbishment, recycling, or electronics reselling business. Technical background in IT hardware or electronics repair. Familiarity with CRM tools or procurement systems.
