Job Description

Position: Product Vertical Head Consumer Durable Loans Department: Business Performance - Consumer Durables Location: [Lingarajpuram Bangalore] Reporting To: [Business Head] Role Overview: The Product Vertical Head for Consumer Durable Loans will be responsible for driving the business strategy, growth, and profitability of the Consumer Durable Loans segment. The role involves empanelment of new vendors, merchant acquisition, cross-selling through the branch network, product development, and ensuring seamless execution of business strategies. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of consumer finance, lending products, and market dynamics. Key Responsibilities: 1. Business Development & Growth Develop and execute strategies to expand the Consumer Durable Loans portfolio. Identify, empanel, and onboard new vendors, retailers, and merchant partners. Strengthen relationships with OEMs, distributors, and dealer networks to increase product penetration. Drive cross-selling initiatives through the existing branch network. Explore new business opportunities and revenue streams for the segment. 2. Product Development & Innovation Design and enhance Consumer Durable Loan products based on customer needs and market trends. Collaborate with the risk and compliance teams to ensure products align with regulatory norms. Implement technology-driven solutions to streamline loan processes and enhance customer experience. Continuously review and refine product policies to remain competitive in the market. 3. Sales & Distribution Strategy Develop a robust sales through Branch Network and distribution strategy to increase market share. Work closely with the branch network to ensure smooth execution and disbursal of loans. Drive branch-level training and awareness programs to enhance product understanding. Track and monitor branch-wise performance and provide necessary support to achieve targets. 4. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales and product team. Establish clear goals, KPIs, and performance metrics for the team. Work closely with internal stakeholders (Operations, Risk, Compliance, IT, etc.) to streamline processes. Act as a key liaison between vendors, channel partners, and internal teams. 5. Risk & Compliance Management Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal compliance guidelines for Consumer Durable Loans. Implement robust risk assessment mechanisms to mitigate fraud and NPAs. Monitor portfolio performance and take corrective actions when required. 6. Market Research & Competitive Analysis Conduct in-depth market research to understand consumer needs and competitor strategies. Identify industry trends and emerging technologies to stay ahead in the market. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for continuous product improvement. Key Qualifications & Experience: Graduates or MBA/PGDM in Finance, Marketing, or related field. 7+ years of experience in Consumer Durable Loans, Retail Lending, or Financial Services. Proven track record in vendor empanelment, merchant acquisition, and business development. Strong knowledge of loan products, underwriting processes, and credit policies. Experience in team management, sales leadership, and stakeholder engagement. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
