Job Rank: Vice President / Consultant Department: Information Systems Department Section / Function: Murex & Golden Source Projects Travel Required: No Profile Summary : The Program Manager will oversee and manage the end-to-end processes for upgrading and implementing the Murex and Golden Source platforms. This role requires expertise in project management, technical knowledge of financial systems, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. The Program Manager will ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders. Duties and Responsibilities: Project Planning & Initiation: - Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resources, and budgets for Murex and Golden Source upgrades. - Define success criteria, establish stakeholder communication plans, and set clear project milestones. Team Management: - Assemble and lead cross-functional teams, including IT, data management, business representatives, and third-party vendors. - Assign roles and responsibilities, facilitate regular meetings, and ensure effective team collaboration. Risk & Issue Management: - Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies for both Murex and Golden Source projects. - Monitor and manage risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle, implementing contingency plans as needed. Resource & Budget Management: - Manage project budgets and ensure that costs remain within approved limits. - Allocate resources effectively and ensure that projects are adequately staffed. Stakeholder Communication: - Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and issues. - Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns promptly. System Upgrade & Coordination: - Work with technical teams and vendors to ensure upgrades are designed, developed, tested, and implemented according to specifications. - Oversee data migration activities, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. - Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers for both Murex and Golden Source systems. Quality Assurance & Testing: - Develop and execute testing strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT). - Ensure upgraded systems meet functional and non-functional requirements and address any issues identified during testing. Change Management: - Develop and implement change management plans to ensure smooth adoption of upgraded systems. - Provide training and support to end-users and manage communications related to changes. Project Execution & Monitoring: - Track project progress against plans and adjust as necessary to stay on schedule. - Use project management tools to monitor performance, manage tasks, and report on progress. Project Closure: - Ensure all deliverables are completed to satisfaction and transition systems to operational teams for ongoing maintenance and support. - Conduct post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and ensure continuous improvement. Qualifications, Skills, and Experience: - Experience: - Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in project management with a track record of managing large-scale IT projects, especially within financial services. - Proven experience with Murex and reference data systems or similar platforms. - Technical Skills: - In-depth knowledge of Murex platform, Golden Source capabilities, and related financial systems. - Proficiency in Jira and Confluence. - Strong understanding of capital markets, trading, risk management, and financial products. - Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC), ITIL processes, and change management practices. - Leadership & Management Skills: - Exceptional leadership and team management abilities. - Strong organizational and time-management skills. - Ability to motivate and empower team members. - Communication Skills: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. - Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills. - Problem-Solving Skills : - Ability to think critically and solve complex problems in high-pressure situations. - Proactive approach to addressing issues and challenges. Supervisory / Managerial Skills: - Maintain transparent communication and provide clear direction to the team. - Foster teamwork and cohesiveness across the team. - Empower team members to take responsibility for their goals and tasks. - Make informed decisions to delegate tasks efficiently and maintain high standards.
