Roles and Responsibilities: You will act as the first point of contact for editors/authors from the time the book is contracted until it is passed to the Production department. Guiding the editors/authors in manuscript preparation to meet manuscript guidelines. Frequent follow-up to keeps an author engaged and ensures that the manuscript issubmitted as contracted to deadline. Maintain excellent relationship with authors/editors and respond to them within 24 hours(or less) from the receipt of the email. Work closely with the Content Development Editor (CDE) to meet the schedule on time. Handles the complete lifecycle of book from contract through to handover to Production to ensure the book delivers to schedule and to expected requirements. Escalates author/editor underperformance issues to CDE and works in conjunction with CDE to bring book back on track. Upon contract, inputs new book/author information into systems/spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy of book metadata across all relevant systems. Maintains accurate book records throughout the development of the book. Receive manuscript from editors and reviews all content upon delivery to ensure appropriate copyright and permissions in place and that the content meets legal requirements. Ensure the manuscript meets expected quality standards for language and structure, all manuscript elements are present (contact info, transfer of copyright agreement, etc.) Ensures projected pagination of delivered manuscript is within the budget set by the Commissioning Editor and escalates any variance to this to the CDE. Collate responses/permissions from editors/authors, updating in the manuscripts and ensuring clear instruction for the typesetter. Updating accurate and necessary data into Title Management System for print, PDF and ePUB records. Complete the editorial checks within the targeted date specified in the tool and handover the book to Production. Sending the post publication email and arranging gratis copies to the editors/authors once the books published in online. Preferred candidate profile • Minimum 2 years experience in books publishing. • Experience in handling Books Team /Books Project Management. • To be involved in book e-publishing business by coordinating across various teams, authors, and clients. • Strong interpersonal skills is a must.
