Proposal Writer (with Presales Experience)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly capable Proposal Writer to lead the development of persuasive, visually engaging proposals for both government (e.g., SBIR/STTR) and commercial opportunities. In addition to writing proposals, the successful candidate will support the creation of technical reports, status updates, and customer-facing presentations. This fully remote role requires someone who is comfortable working across disciplines—including with engineers, designers, and business development teams—to develop high-impact written and visual content. Key Responsibilities Develop and write compelling, compliant proposals for SBIR/STTR and other federal and commercial funding opportunities. Collaborate with engineers, project leads, and subject matter experts to gather inputs and refine proposal strategy and content. Create technical and status reports that clearly communicate progress, challenges, and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders. Prepare customer-facing materials, including presentations, summaries, and documentation, that reflect both technical depth and clarity. Partner with graphic designers and illustrators to develop diagrams, infographics, and visual aids that enhance narrative storytelling. Ensure all written materials meet style, quality, and submission standards for diverse audiences, including technical evaluators, program managers, and commercial customers. Maintain a content library and templates to streamline future proposals and reporting efforts. Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience writing successful technical proposals (government or commercial), with an emphasis on SBIR/STTR or federal R&D programs. Strong ability to write for different audiences—technical, non-technical, and executive. Demonstrated success collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including creatives and technical staff. Excellent project and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple overlapping deadlines.
