Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Purchase Engineer to join our dynamic procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services essential for our organization. The Purchase Engineer will collaborate with various departments to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability. Role & responsibilities 1. Sourcing and Vendor Development: Identify potential suppliers, conduct negotiations, and establish agreements for the procurement of materials and services. Evaluate and select vendors based on factors such as price, quality, delivery time, and reliability. 2. Cost Analysis: Analyze costs and pricing structures to ensure the best value for the organization. Negotiate favorable terms and conditions to achieve cost savings without compromising quality. 3. Order Processing: Generate purchase orders and ensure accurate and timely processing of orders. Work closely with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and specifications. 4. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control and production teams to ensure that purchased materials meet specified quality standards. Address any quality issues with suppliers and implement corrective actions. 5. Contract Management: Draft and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards. Monitor supplier performance and take necessary actions to address any deviations. 6. Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and new product developments. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. 7. Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain. Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers in a timely and effective manner. 8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance. Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, costs, and savings. Skill / Competencies Required: Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers. Solid understanding of technical specifications and engineering drawings. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing procurement. Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
