Job Description

Role Objective: Reporting directly to the Directors, this role is responsible for the research, design and development duties related to the evaluation, installation, operation and maintenance of mechanical systems in the plant. Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The candidate must be a: A Bachelor or masters in mechanical engineering with 15 to 20 years experience in the Mechanical Engineering field with minimum 5 years experience in Purchase department. The candidate will be based at the Companys Head Office at Erode but must be willing to travel extensively to supervise civil construction activities at site. The Candidate must also have: Sound mathematical and technical skills including physics. Ability to thin methodically, to design, plan and manage projects. Ability to maintain an overview of entire project while continuing to attend detailed technicalities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Hindi and Tamil. Any other regional languages would be a plus. Negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills combined with the ability to delegate. The candidate will directly report to the Directors. Responsibilities: Assessing project requirements. Measuring the performance of mechanical components, devices and engines. Agreeing budgets, timescales and specifications with clients and managers. Maintaining and modifying equipment to ensure that it is safe, reliable and efficient. Using computer aided designs/ software programs. Liaising with suppliers. Undertaking relevant research. Producing and implementing designs and test procedures. Presenting designs to managers and clients. Testing, evaluating, modifying and re-testing products. Writing reports and documentation. Providing technical advice. Analyzing and interpreting data. Relationships and Roles: Internal / External Cooperation Demonstrate ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
