Job Description

Position : Purchase Manager Company : Ramachandran Textiles (A Division of Jeyachandran Industries Pvt Ltd ) Location : Trivandrum Experience : 10 to 12 years in Engineering, Industrial, or Construction (Builder) Purchasing Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering, or a related field. Strong industrial, engineering, or construction purchasing background. Proficiency in SAP/ERP systems (Preferred). Role & responsibilities 1. Procurement & Vendor Management Develop and execute strategic procurement plans aligned with business needs. Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, contractors, and vendors . Maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality. 2. Inventory & Cost Control Monitor purchase orders, stock levels, and supply chain efficiency . Implement cost-saving strategies while ensuring quality and timely delivery. Work closely with finance and operations teams to optimize procurement budgets. 3. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure all procurement processes comply with company policies and industry regulations . Manage contract agreements, supplier performance, and dispute resolution . Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions . 4. Vendor & Supplier Evaluation Conduct periodic supplier audits to assess quality, reliability, and service standards. Source alternative suppliers to reduce dependency on single vendors. 5. Coordination with Internal Teams Collaborate with engineering, project management, and operations teams to understand material requirements. Ensure seamless procurement of raw materials, machinery, and construction materials . 6. Process Optimization & Reporting Use data analytics and market research to forecast demand and pricing trends. Generate purchase reports, cost analyses, and vendor performance reviews . Skills Required: Strong negotiation and vendor management skills Deep understanding of procurement in engineering, industrial, or construction sectors Expertise in SAP, ERP systems, and procurement software Excellent communication and leadership abilities Analytical skills for cost control and budget management Preferred Candidate: Experience in procurement for engineering, industrial, or large-scale construction projects . Strong understanding of raw material sourcing, machinery procurement, and vendor negotiations .
