Job Title: Quality Assurance Lead – Tax Technology Location: Mumbai,Hyderabad (Hitech City – Gowra Palladium) Work Model: Hybrid (4 days in-office, 1 day work-from-home) Shift Timing: 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM IST Interview Mode: In-Person Role Overview A leading global consulting organization is seeking a Quality Assurance Lead to drive QA strategy and execution across tax technology initiatives. This role involves managing manual and automated testing processes with a strong focus on U.S. tax domain applications. The ideal candidate will bring deep QA expertise, hands-on leadership experience, and the ability to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in high-impact technology deliverables. Key Responsibilities Oversee and implement quality assurance strategies for manual and automated testing across multiple business-as-usual and transformation projects. Lead end-to-end testing of U.S. tax systems to ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations, including IRS requirements. Validate tax calculations, deductions, credits, and exemptions for Forms 1040, 1065, W-2, and Social Security number processing. Design, execute, and manage test cases for tax calculation engines, filing systems, and tax-related interfaces. Collaborate closely with tax teams and cross-functional stakeholders to define test scope, objectives, and criteria. Identify defects, manage defect lifecycle, and ensure resolution through structured tracking systems. Promote automation by working with technical teams to develop and maintain automated test scripts. Support and drive the implementation of internal controls testing, risk mitigation strategies, and governance assessments. Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of QA processes, test cases, and user manuals. Stay current with software testing trends, tools, and domain-specific knowledge (especially U.S. taxation). Mentor and manage a distributed team of QA professionals (including internal staff and contingent workers). Mandatory Requirements Minimum 8 years of experience in software testing, with at least 1 year in a QA leadership role. Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on QA experience in the U.S. tax domain, specifically testing functionalities related to Form 1040, 1065, W-2, SSN configurations. Proven expertise in manual testing methodologies and test case execution. Experience with tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar test management platforms. Familiarity with test automation frameworks such as Selenium or Appium. Solid SQL/Database knowledge. Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and present clearly to stakeholders. No significant gaps in work history; candidates must demonstrate job stability. Candidates should be available to join within 0 to 60 days. Preferred Skills Experience working with QA for tax software tailored to U.S. clients. Exposure to performance testing using tools such as JMETER, Postman, etc. Understanding of application architecture for highly available systems, with an eye on scalability, security, and compliance. Familiarity with technologies such as HTML, XML, JSON, JavaScript. Experience with SAP Cloud ALM is a plus. Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) and knowledge of Agile/DevOps practices is desirable. Additional Requirements Candidates must be well-groomed, presentable, confident, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. A 15-minute video screening will be conducted to assess communication, confidence, and presentation style. Travel time to the office should not exceed 1 hour.
